Roostwarming Party

Hello there. Glad you found the place.

Welcome to the new Goose’s Roost. I hope you like what you see. This new look is almost a year in the making. That is, I kicked around the idea of switching things up last winter, then remembered I bought a template a few weeks ago and should probably get my money’s worth out of it.

Not much has really changed when you think about it. New posts should be pretty easy to spot and everything is searchable. We’ve even managed to fix a few things about the site that got broken over the last four or so years.

A few things you might want to know before we get started:

— Navigating the site is pretty easy. New posts show up at the top and you just click the box to read it. New posts start at top left and work their way down.

— The blogroll still exists. Click on a post to read it and the blogroll pops up on the sidebar at the right. We still use that to read all the other blogs we follow, so we weren’t going to go killing that off. If you see a blog missing from the list that’s been updated recently (it displays the top 30 most recently updated), shoot us a note and we’ll add it to the list.

— The arrows to the left and right of the site take you back and forth through the archives.

— RSS feeds are still at the bottom of the site, along with links to our Twitter accounts.

— The RoostCast page works again, as does the media player on the site.

What’s been missing from this site lately is some content. If you’re still reading this, I’d like you to know that we’ve missed you. Expect things to pick up in here now that everything is nice and shiny.

A special thanks to Twitter follower Jayfoldsfive for the goose we borrowed in the header, and for re-firing my brain on this little project.

Enjoy the tunes. Any questions, leave them in the comments and we’ll take care of them as they come.

Caught it when you beta-tested it a few nights ago. Yes, I was also up. Looks boo-tiful.
