Catching Up with the Bills

By Chris

There hasn’t been much football talk in these parts lately. There a quite a few reasons for that.

First, the lockout is stupid and although I usually enjoy legal battles, this one isn’t fun or even very interesting. The fact that the owners might not be able to stay unified through this process doesn’t bode well for picking sides or keeping my attention either. That people are acting like they’ve already missed something important because OTAs aren’t going on is pretty annoying too.

While I’m excited to see what Marcell Dareus will do in one of those new Bills uniforms, we won’t even be able to see him try one of the new kits on when they unveil them on Friday. I bet Russ Brandon looks great in shoulder pads though.

Maybe we could check in on what other players have been doing to keep busy during the lockout. It probably won’t be as exciting as those “What I Did on My Summer Vacation” episodes on “Tiny Toons” but let’s give it a whirl.

Donte Whitner’s been getting in Twitter fights with people, particularly Bills fans.

As far as I know, Aaron Maybin hasn’t made a new rap song, which is very disappointing. Maybe he’s learning how to pass rush. Hey, one can hope.

Jairus Byrd probably had a very interesting and very on-the-record Father’s Day.

And Shawne Merriman, who’s still a Bill despite getting hurt 10 minutes into his first practice like eight months ago has somehow kept himself in the media spotlight.

R.I.P. Sports Show and thanks for giving us that before you left us.

So, yeah. Go Bills.
