It’s a night full of momentous occasions here: This is my 2,000th post on the Roost, and the Sabres are celebrating the last 40(ish) years of the franchise with a bunch of ceremonies that will make tonight an 8pm start time. I’ll be watching more high school football tonight and will catch up on DVR, but it should be interesting to see what they have planned.

More importantly, after mentioning yesterday that the McCormick fight photo was ripe for photoshopping, someone came through for us. Furrer4heisman from the Virginia Tech blog Gobbler Country emailed me an initial entry that was wonderful, then he added Bruce Smith and some fighter jets to the equation. The results, as you can see, are spectacular:

What a human being. I have no idea how to use this image, but I want to see it every day. The least you can do is follow him on Twitter and learn more about ACC football and Kevin Durant. It’s a fair trade if you ask me.

Tonight it will be very interesting to see how the Sabres come out after a very long ceremony. This is a pretty big game against a team that did plenty of damage in the post season last year. The Sabres have clearly struggled to start the season, but a big game on a big Friday night may be just what the doctor ordered.

If not, let’s hope the AP photogs are on their game so we can have some more fun.
