NUFAN,

I haven't said much about this on purpose, but I completely agree with your second point. Say what you will about the last two seasons, but Lindy has the boys ready to play this year. That's a good sign, no matter who you want fired and when.

Two hockey thoughts...
1) The sabres were lucky to pull that out in Tampa. If I would of been scoring it boxing style, Tampa certainly was ahead on points up until the end. However, every once and a while you have to win just through grit and determination, which the team has...last year they would of let the game get away, especially if it was in Florida. Not this time though, they hung in there and made some good things happen. All in all, great game, not because of the play, but because of the determination (I enjoyed the celebration too).

2) One of the guys on the globe hockey roundtable podcast had an interesting thought (talking about the leafs woeful start)...and it revolved around the idea that the first 10 games is a very good indicator as to how well coached the team is. At the end of last year there was a lot of debate about Lindy (especially for me, since one of my drinking buddies is an Oil fan, and they were at the same point with McT last year), but one thing you can say about the Sabres - they're well prepared at the start of a season.

One last thought - if Myers is 6'8, that deke move meant the puck must of moved about 12 feet when he pulled it from one side to the other.

"There have been fluctuations between good and bad, but 6-1-1 is hard to complain about just yet."

I feel the same as everyone else - kinda nervous but very pleased with what I've seen. We're all getting used to watching hockey again and haven't watched enough of this team to project an identity. But you've got to love what has happened so far. They've won games in different ways. The season couldn't have started better, honestly. I'm starting to send taunting texts to my friends from Toronto and NY.

I'm also expecting a little let down too. They are winning at a rate that's impossible to sustain the entire year. Once they do lose twice in a row or three times in four games, lets not get too dramatic because it happens to every team, good and bad.

But their record so far IS hard to complain about and in my opinion there haven't been enough praise for it. Few of us predicted this kind of dominance by the blue and gold.

Great post BTW.

Not really, the Paille trade just takes care of the Kennedy debacle. I'd expect to see a waiving coming up very soon.

Didn't the Paille trade take care of the roster issue when Sekera returns back to the lineup?
