Nassau Memorial House of Horrors

Nassau Memorial House of Horrors

Ugly game on an ugly night. That was a bad team dressed up in Sabres uniforms tonight. Tired, sick, or maimed; no one gets shut out by the Islanders.
More to come.

Fever Night

Everyone is sick. Miller isn’t getting a break. New York went to overtime last night.
There’s plenty of uncertainty going into tonight’s game, but the one thing we do know? What Tim Connolly is being for Halloween.

7:00 p.m. from Nassau. Happy Halloween, everyone.

Missing Link

God I love that goal.
I think I’ve watched the replay at least a dozen times. It’s the perfect transition goal: an active forecheck creates a turnover and makes the opposition pay. It’s a simple concept that’s as complicated as it gets in real time.
The anticipation necessary to see that pass and see Connolly free in [...]

I always seem to run these when no one is around, so here we go:

Points!

Tis the Season…

…to post a picture of Drew Stafford as Jesus. It’s tradition by now.

Happy Halloween everyone. Let’s hope Jesus lights the lamp again tonight.

It Could Happen

It Could Happen

So it’s official now, but you never know: Tyler Myers might not play tonight. Here are a few things that could happen to prevent Tyler Myers from taking the ice tonight.

- He is horrifficly maulled by a bear.

- The Bat Signal hits the sky.

- It’s garbage day.

- He’s too busy playing Techmo Bowl.

- He’s waiting in line for a Droid.

Cause and Effect

This is the line that beat the New Jersey Devils tonight. Then again, maybe not.
It’s no secret that the Sabres have been tougher this season. Mike Grier has been great, Tim Kennedy has played hard every night, and there seems to be very little letdown from the first down to the fourth. When guys like [...]

The kid stays. Wow, no one saw this coming. Shocked. I need to go lay down. More later.

“Let a man step to the music which he hears, however measured.” – Henry David Thoreau
This quote is what you see most often when people discuss Thoreau. It’s the basic philosophy he uses throughout his life, trimmed down into a convenient high school yearbook quote for forward-thinking teens. But what most don’t realize is that the quote originally [...]

It’s Always Cloudy in New York

by Ryan
Not a good night for the city that never sleeps. Sure the Yankees lost, but so did the Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Knicks, and even the Nets. Jesus, if the WNBA mattered I bet the Liberty would have lost, too. The only team that won was the Islanders, and they barely count. That’s like saying Kansas [...]

Cue the Clapton

It seems the Sabres have played just a handful of games since the season started 18 four weeks ago, but we’ve already said hello to a few familiar faces. Maxim Afinogenov came to town two weeks ago, and tonight the Sabres will visit the neighborhood Andrew Peters now calls home: New Jersey.
We thought it would be [...]

Cautionary Tale

Cautionary Tale

It’s one of the unavoidable hazards of the internet: spam.
As a blogger the real concern become spam comments which, when posted, are used to Google bomb or do other nefarious things with the series of tubes we call the internet.
As a public we’ve trained ourselves to recognize these tactics, but even I was impressed by this one:

If [...]
