Hook, Line, Sinker

– Here’s a somewhat handy list of free agents put together by Yahoo Sports. You know, just in case.

– Jim Brinson is back on the airwaves this week, as he’s filling in for Brad Riter on WECK 1230.

– Did I mention the newly launched WNYMedia site? Looks pretty spiffy, and you should be seeing some stuff from me up there very shortly. Maybe a picture and a last name? Hrm…

– If you’re keeping score at home, look for Ryan Callihan to be the next player being bitched about by Larry Quinn when he attempts to explain why Derek Roy-er… Drew Stafford got such a large contract.

– Mirtle has a great piece on the coup taking place in Chicago. At least we know GMs can be fired after July 1…

– Gary Bettman makes $7 million dollars per year. Hey, he’s still cheaper than Daniel Briere will be this year…

– The NHL looks like it will announce this fall’s schedule sometime tomorrow, along with an official “Winter Classic at Fenway” announcement to boot. Oh, to be on the Monster for that one…

– Tomorrow will be the most boring sports day of the year. If we are to survive it, we must do it together. Expect a lot of content out of pure boredom.

  1. Most boring sports day? Lance is still only 8 seconds back of the maillot jaune and they’re nearing the mid-point of the Tour! Any day now we could see him make his push to grab the lead. Plus it’s another flat stage, so the end could be an all-out sprint of dozens of riders.

I dunno, for me no day in July can qualify as “most boring sports day”. That nod would go to one of those days between the end of the NHL regular season and the playoffs, or between series. Sure there’s baseball, but it’s April so it’s still practically “extended spring training”.
