Searching for Fellow Readers

by Ryan

Rich and I are still trying to get together and discuss “Outliers”, but I did want to talk a bit about our next Reading with the Roost selection, “Searching for Bobby Orr“.

I think reading a biography on a hockey player is an interesting follow-up to a book like “Outliers”, which talks explicitly about the way hockey players are groomed. That’s something we will talk about later, but I really do think Stephen Brunt’s work just might be one of my favorites on the list. Bobby hasn’t even played a game in the NHL yet, and it’s one of the better biographies I’ve read.

If you want to give it a read with us, there’s still plenty of time to get it and read it in time. If you need any more encouragement to do so, watch this:

Simply incredible. That video has Brian Campbell sweating in his shoes. And everywhere else.
