All week I’ve been asked by people what I think the Bills are going to do at the Draft. The answer I’ve given them has changed quite a bit, but I always start off the same:
I have no idea.
It’s not for a lack of trying, either. I mean, it’s pretty clear that the Bills need a pass rushing defender and a tight end. They also most certainly need an offensive tackle, left or right. The problem for me is that I just don’t know what the Bills are doing with their “off season philosophy,” whatever that means.
If there is anything I’m hoping to get out of today, it’s a better understanding of that. I think it will be exciting either way, as the draft always is. However, I don’t want to be scratching my head at the end of the day like we have in the past. We used to have an “In Marv We Trust” tag, but we certainly don’t have a “In Russ Brandon We Trust” tag. I think there’s a reason for that.
If we need to make one by tonight, so be it. Let’s hope.
