I think this series goes back to the Igloo tied at two.
I’m not sure why I think that, but it probably has something to do with the Philly series back in 2006. Buffalo took one game in a blowout marred by a lot of scrums, and one game in overtime by the skin of their teeth. The crowds were great, the atomosphere intense, and the results quite evident.
But then the series went back to Philadelphia, and the crowds were just as intense. No one there thought they were out of it, and before you knew it the series was tied up again. Two close games in Philly, both pulled out by the home team.
It wouldn’t be enough in the end, but the Flyers showed just what can happen to a series when it switches settings. If the same thing happens this year, I wouldn’t be surprised at all.
