Playoff Picks Extravaganza

by Ryan

Postseason hockey is here, and that means we all get to watch better teams play better hockey. I’m excited.

This also means we get to make ourselves look foolish by predicting what will happen. Last season we did an excellent job of doing that, with Sabresfan88 beating us all. He never got anything for it (seriously, email us if you want to figure something out. Guest post?), but we’re doing it again this year and hope you want to join in. It’s going to be an… an…

extravaganza

Yes Chuck, an extravaganza.

So here’s the deal: pick the series winner and in how many games you think it will take. We will score it as follows: two points for the correct team, and a bonus point for the correct number of games. We will total up the points as we go along and crown a champion.

It’s simple, fun, and something else I can lose at this year. We will have our official picks up on Wednesday, but you can start putting them in the comments of this post or the sticky post I will put up tomorrow. We will round them all up and have them on record by Thursday.

Don’t be afraid to participate. It’s all in good fun. (Until you win. Then it’s a big deal.)

I’m going to root for Heather B’s picks cuz she’s the only one smart enough to pick the Blues (a well coached team by the way).

*But their goaltending is horrible. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them lose this series.

For the record, that’s not the one I’m re-thinking. I’m hitching my wagon to the Blues big time, keller, even though I have no idea how good they really are.

I forgot all about all that prize talk. I think I’d like to take you up on that guest post, but I’m not sure I’ll ever make it happen.

  25. Why aren’t we leaving the rest of our picks like in my workplace pool? We didn’t last year, right? I realize than Boston (or whoever) could lose in the first round, but that’s half the fun.
