The Buffalo Bandits know they have at least one more home game this year, and tonight they will try to secure another one.
Buffalo will take on the Boston Blazers at HSBC Arena with a chance to clinch an East Division title and homefield advantage in the first two rounds of the NLL playoffs. Buffalo can also clinch the East with a New York Titans loss.
Boston has already secured a playoff spot of their own, and with a win tonight and some help from Minnesota they can clinch a home playoff game in the first round. That means both teams have something at stake, and we should be in for an exciting finish to the regular season.
The Bandits will have something else to look forward to tonight, as they are expected to break the NLL all time attendance record with tonight’s crowd. The mark is currently held by the Colorado Mammoth, who set the record in 2004 with 140,942 fans through the turnstiles in one season. Buffalo needs a crowd of 15,819 to break that mark, and the Bandits are expecting a near-sellout crowd tonight.
Bandits goaltender Ken Montour is expected to get the start, and there are no major injuries to report for Buffalo. Expect a loud crowd down at the Arena tonight, as fans are looking to head into the playoffs on a winning note.
