Bandits Take on Titans Tonight

by Ryan

Coming off a big win at home on Saturday, the Buffalo Bandits look to keep momentum going tonight when they take on the New York Titans at HSBC Arena.

The match up will feature two of the top teams in the East. Buffalo sits atop the division with an 8-3 record, but New York is just two games back at 6-5. With the Bandits taking on second place Boston (7-4) next week, tonight’s game means a whole lot as far as playoff seeding.

The Bandits will feature two players of the week in their lineup tonight, with Ken Montour receiving NLL Defensive Player of the Week and John Tavares taking Offensive honors. Montour allowed just four goals last week against Portland, and Tavares notched seven points (4+3) in the 14-4 win.

Tonight look for the Bandits to continue playing shut down defense, and try getting a few more goals from people not named Tavares and Steenhuis. Montour was excellent last week against Portland, but the defense in front of him was even more impressive. Buffalo needs that kind of game again to pull out the win.

A Bandits win and a Philadelphia or Toronto loss means Buffalo clinches a playoff birth. I’ll be back in the press box again, and it looks like I’ll be covering games for the rest of the season.

Game time is 7:30 pm down at HSBC Arena.
